Michael Van Gilder
Chief Executive Officer
Michael Van Gilder serves as a fourth generation Van Gilder family member at the helm. With more than 15 years of experience, Michael started with Van Gilder in sales and led in that position for several years as the firm's top sales executive. In 2006, Michael took over as Chief Executive Officer, and since then has worked to transform Van Gilder into a firm with multiple specialty orientations. Michael believes that when individuals follow their passion for an industry segment, or specific line of coverage, the deliverable to client is unsurpassed. Although he has stepped into a position of leadership with the firm, Michael continues his direct involvement in sales spending a great deal of time with the Van Gilder producers.
In addition to serving as the firm's Chief Executive Officer, Michael is a significant stockholder and serves on Van Gilder’s Board of Directors. He divides his focus between his work as the leader of a successful private firm and as a leading sales executive striving to make every client better run and more profitable by partnering with Van Gilder.
Michael draws on his significant knowledge gained through deep involvement in the Denver community. He serves on several boards that focus on civic engagement, leadership development and community improvement and involvement.
Michael graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Colorado. He has earned the Accredited Advisor in Insurance (AAI) and Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designations.
