Edward M. Harrington, Jr.
Chief Financial Officer
Ed Harrington serves at Van Gilder in the role of EVP/Chief Financial Officer. During his insurance career, Ed has focused on the internal operations of the insurance agency business, being responsible for such areas as finance, human resources, information technology and contract administration. In his role as CFO of quickly growing insurance agencies, he has been heavily involved in numerous acquisitions and mergers.
Ed graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration. He received a Master of Business Administration Degree from the University of Denver. Ed also holds the professional designations of Certified Management Accountant (CMA) and Certified in Financial Management (CFM). After spending the first few years of his career in the construction industry, he entered the insurance industry in 1981. Since that time, he has served in executive financial and management positions for three insurance agency operations.

· Automation Committee, National Association of Surety Bond Producers, 1994-1995
· Board of Directors, Delphi Users Group, a national computer users group of insurance agents/brokers from 1985 to 1992, and Chairman from 1989 to 1992
