James A. Perry
Jim Perry is the CEO and a Principal in the Jupiter Consolidated Group (JCG). JCG provides various elements of the office environment to major Colorado companies. It provides office furniture through OfficeScapes, the largest office furniture company in Colorado with offices in Denver, Colorado Springs, and Ft Collins. Through three other subsidiary companies, it also provides tenant finish construction services (i2 Construction), commercial carpeting (Floorz LLLP), data and phone line cabling and infrastructure, security systems, telephone systems, and audio visual equipment (LINX LLLP). JCG employees 300 people in Colorado and has revenues of $115 million per year.
Jim purchased the furniture business from the Seal family in 1992 who had been in business in Denver since 1952. The Colorado Springs furniture business was purchased in 1994 and the Denver business was expanded by the acquisition of Scott Rice in 2000. OfficeScapes is a distributor of Steelcase office furniture and, after the acquisition of Scott Rice, is the sole Steelcase distributor on the Front Range.
Jim grew up in Central Illinois and moved to Colorado in 1977. He worked as a CPA for the firm now called Deloitte and Touche (previously called Haskins and Sells), specializing in mergers and acquisitions. He has a BS degree in Accountancy from the University of Illinois. He has been active with the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce for several years.
