Dell Van Gilder, Jr.
Dell Van Gilder, Jr. currently serves as Chairman of Van Gilder and is the third generation Van Gilder to lead the firm. A second generation Coloradan, he served as the CEO of Van Gilder for thirty-seven years before turning that position over to his son, Michael, who represents the fourth generation of Van Gilder leadership. During his career he has directed a great deal of growth as the preeminent independent property and casualty and employee benefits brokerage firm in the Rocky Mountain Region.
Dell became Secretary - Treasurer of Van Gilder Insurance Corporation in 1969, and President in 1980. He has been the leading force behind the agency’s growth from $500,000 in sales volume in 1963 to $250,000,000 in 2001. Experience in servicing the insurance needs of some of the largest organizations in Colorado gives him a strong background in all aspects of the property and casualty insurance fields.
Dell graduated from the University of Colorado in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree, majoring in Finance. He received formal insurance training through the Travelers School. He has successfully completed several parts toward the CPCU designation.
